Apple have been making great products for us consumers for a while now. They have great computers, phones, mp3 players, tablet, and who knows what else they plan on coming out with next. I personally have a iPhone 4 since launch and I love it, as well as my 2 previous generation iPhones. On Tuesday, Apple is supposed to reveal the next generation iPhone and who knows what else.
Apple has also released the newest MacBook and MacBook air this year with many new features. But these laptops come with a hefty price tag. Macbook air starts at $999 and MacBook Pro starts at $1199 for a 13" screen, $1799 for a 15"and $2500 for a 17". If you compare these prices to a windows laptop you will have a great laptop with many great features and plenty of ram and processor speed.
Lately I've been hearing a lot of students and people talking about how badly they want a Mac. Of course some will use it to run iMovie, a variety of Adobe programs, and whatever else they would need it for. But most of the ones who wants them will just do what everyone else does, play music, surf the web, type a paper, watch movies, etc.
Some of them probably just have the money or just want one because it's cool to have or everyone of their friends has one. If you aren't using the computer to it's full potential why not save yourself a few hundred dollars or about a thousand dollars and buy a windows computer that runs and performs just as good?
I would love to own a Mac but can't justify spending that kind of money for one when I can buy or build a laptop/computer for cheaper and just as fast. Editing photos and videos would be a lot better but in the mean time a windows computer would suffice.

I definitely agree with you. I have wanted one for the longest time but I just couldn't imagine spending that type of money for a laptop! For the price of the Mac I could easily buy a used car. So I think my gateway will be good.
